Tennessee Titans Rumors: Dorial Green-Beckham, Justin Hunter Compete with Hakeem Nicks, Harry Douglas as Marcus Mariota Pushes Zach Mettenberger Trade

The Tennessee Titans are hoping to have a much more lethal offense in 2015. The team took several steps to making that happen during the offseason and will now have some highly touted position battles taking place during camp. While the most marquee will happen between Zach Mettenberger and Marcus Mariota, there are some heated matchups at the wide receiver spot.

After selecting Mariota in the first round, the Titans went and got Dorial Green-Beckham in the second round of the NFL Draft. The wide receiver out of Missouri certainly has had his share of ups and downs in football, but he is the type of talent that Tennessee could not ignore. However, his presence causes a battle at the position between he and likely third-year receiver Justin Hunter. According to the Tennesseean, Hunter is prepared to fight for his starting spot.

"He's another big guy like me, but he has more size on him," Hunter said, via Tennessean. "Competition is going to bring out the best in us. Everybody is going to fight for a position, and when the season comes, it will be a good thing. It's always (about competition) in the NFL. Your spot can always be taken. Everywhere you go, everyone is fighting for a position. In the NFL, the only thing that changes is the name on the back of the jersey."

Hunter is not the only one that will be battling Green-Beckham. The Titans also have Hakeem Nicks and Harry Douglas in the mix who signed in the offseason. Kendall Wright is also looking to remain a starter for the team. While all eyes will be on the quarterback position, the Titans have young talent at the receiver spot ready to compete.

One person also ready to battle is Mettenberger who denies that he is requesting a trade from the Titans after the drafting of Mariota. Teammates are praising the quarterback for his willingness to not give up on the idea of being the team's starting quarterback. According to tackle Taylor Lewan, Mettenberger still views himself as the starter.

"That is the mentality that Zach has. He thinks of himself as a starter, and the guys in the locker room do also. I don't think he is going to give it up easily," Lewan said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean. "Mariota, I don't know the guy and I am sure he is a great worker and from everything I hear about him he's a great guy. But Zach is not the kind of guy who in conflict is going to flee. He's going to fight it out."
