The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 in the second overtime period and take a 1-0 lead in the series."

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens are playing live on the NHL playoffs schedule for the second round for Game 2 on Sunday and it will be on the NBC Sports Network and NBCSN Live Extra website streaming after the Lightning won the first matchup at the Bell Centre in Canada and now Carey Price will try and stop Ryan Callahan and Steven Stamkos from getting a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Lightning won over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 7 of the first round and the team continued their strong play, winning 2-1 over the Canadiens. Ben Bishop has played well in the playoffs and Price was not able to get a win for Montreal and now the Canadiens will try and bounce back from the loss. The series heads to Tampa Bay after the games in Canada and the Canadiens will be looking to split the home matchups before heading south.

The Lightning played Montreal last year and lost and now the teams match up again and after the double overtime win in Game 1, the team is ready. The Lightning actually won all of the meetings with Montreal this season after getting swept last year and winning this series could erase all of it. Price and Bishop both played very well and now they will get the chance for an encore after the long game on Friday.

The Canadiens power play has not been very consistent this postseason and they have scored just once in 23 chances. Max Pacioretty has had his chances in the series and the Lightning also have not been great on the power play after missing out on all four chance in the first game. Stamkos has not scored a goal in the playoffs since last year and Bishop comes in while only allowing one goal in his last 75 shots faced and he has won eight straight against the Canadiens.

The Canadiens won over the Senators in the first round, while the Lightning went the distance with the Red Wings and pulled it out with Game 7 in Tampa Bay. The Rangers won over the Penguins on the other side while the Caps won over the Islanders and now those teams are tied 1-1 heading into Game 3 and that will be in Washington on Monday night after the teams split the games in New York.
