Jamie Kuntz, a football player from North Dakota State College of Science and 18-years-old, was removed from his team after getting caught kissing his 65-year-old boyfriend at a game.

Due to a concussion suffered, Kuntz who was on board with a partial football scholarship in the school located in Wahpeton, was kicked out of the team for "lying to coaches, teachers or other school staff" which is considered to be "conduct deemed detrimental to the team."

Kuntz kissed his boyfriend at a game while he was videotaping the action from the press box. His friends saw him and told the team's coach. When confronted by the coach, Kuntz lied, but eventually confessed.

Kuntz feels that the dismissal from the school had nothing to do with the lie, but instead, because he was gay. ''People expect gays to be flamboyant, not football players," Kuntz said in relation to how homosexuality is viewed in his area.

He also added, ''I know if it was a girl in the press box, or even an older woman, nothing would have happened. If it was an older woman, I would have probably been congratulated for it from my teammates."

The school is currently finding out if this is the first incident where a player is dismissed from a team because of failure to tell the truth.

His mother recently found out he was gay right after the incident, ''I'm struggling with it,'' said Rita Kuntz, choking back tears. ''I love Jamie and I'm proud of him, but I know what the school did was wrong.''

Jamie said he would continue to pursue his dream of playing football and will walk-on another school somewhere outside of North Dakota.
