Cleveland Browns Rumors: Sam Bradford, Johnny Manziel Trade Option if Philadelphia Eagles Contract Fails? Marcus Mariota Deal Likely Over Amari Cooper, Todd Gurley

The quarterback drama continues for the Cleveland Browns. The team cannot escape the rumors as the head coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer certainly did not help things as they hinted possible quarterback additions would be headed the team's way. With just Johnny Manziel and Josh McCown as the two most likely quarterbacks for the rotation, it makes sense to add another quality option to the roster, but how will the Browns go about it?

Cleveland is once again getting linked to Sam Bradford. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns are once again looking at what it would take to get Bradford in a trade, something they have explored multiple times. NJ.com's Mark Eckel first reported that while the Browns had offered a first-round draft pick to the Eagles for the quarterback, Bradford told his agent that he had no intentions of signing a long-term contract with Cleveland, ending the Browns' interest in him.

The re-visiting of the trade comes just after ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Bradford would only sign a contract extension with the Eagles this season as he enters the final year of his contract worth $13 million. Mortensen is reporting that the Eagles would like to sign Bradford to an extension, but the quarterback wants a no-trade clause in the deal, something that may or may not happen.

Philadelphia continues to get linked to quarterback trades as well as many still believe head coach Chip Kelly will do anything to Marcus Mariota in a deal. Kelly continues to take the stance that Bradford is the starting quarterback for the team and things will remain that way. Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow round out the rotation for the Eagles, but one or two of those quarterbacks will be gone by the time the regular season rolls around.

Cabot reports the chances the Browns get a trade deal for Bradford are slim to none. The team's best chance at a quarterback upgrade is to trade up for Mariota. According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Browns would like to jump to the No. 5 pick owned by the Washington Redskins if Mariota drops out of the top two. The Tennessee Titans are remaining coy about their interest in drafting a quarterback as many teams begin to offer a number of trade deals to them. With two first-round picks, the Browns have the ammunition to make a huge jump up the boards if they really want to.
