The New Orleans Saints have met with free agent Greg Jennings and they could be an option to sign him to a contract this offseason and this comes as the team may target names like Vic Beasley, Dante Fowler and Shane Ray in the draft if they explore a trade with Cameron Jordan and this follows the signing Mike Golic Jr. to a deal ahead of offseason workouts.

According to Mel Kiper at ESPN.com, the Saints may draft a pass rusher in the first round and the draft expert predicts that Vic Beasley will be the pick. Names like Shane Ray, Randy Gregory and Dante Fowler have been mentioned as options in various mock drafts and Kiper thinks that Beasley will be the pick. The Saints have a top 15 pick and Beasley could be available if he slips out of the top 10 at number 13 for New Orleans.

The Saints have made a number of significant moves this offseason, including trading away Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham. The team likely will focus on offense in the draft, but they have needs all over the roster. The team could consider a Cameron Jordan trade and if that happens, expect the team to draft a pass rusher or two for their defense.

Peter King reported about the possibility of a Jordan trade if the team can't work out a contract extension with the defensive end this offseason. If the team trades Jordan ahead of the draft or during the draft, expect the team to take someone like Beasley in the first round after Beasley was named ACC's Defensive Player of the Year.

Last season the Saints were one of the worst defensive teams in the league and that is why it's likely they will look at that side of the ball in the early rounds. Names like Beasley and Ray could be options, but Fowler likely will be gone by the time the team picks. Last season the team ranked 29th in rushing yards allowed per game and 25th in passing yards allowed per game.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Saints have brought on Golic after previously signing him for a short stint last offseason. Golic has bounced around to a couple teams since coming out of Notre Dame, including spending the 2013 preseason with the Steelers and last year with the Saints for a month. Golic Jr. is the son of former NFL defensive lineman and current ESPN radio host Mike Golic and his son is considered more of a prospect and practice squad player than a roster rotation player on the line.

The Saints have some roster issues this season though and Golic could find a chance to get onto the field more if he sticks with the team. According to PFT, Golic had plenty of experience at Notre Dame, playing in 40 games and starting all 13 games as a senior while playing at guard. The Saints have had some injury issues over the past couple seasons and with the cap situation tight, the team could be more willing to give the 25 year old a chance.
