The Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins are playing live on the MLB schedule on Thursday at Target Field and the AL Central matchup starts at 1:10 pm ET and has KC coming off of its first loss of the year as Jason Vargas and Tommy Milone face off in the pitching duel for the baseball game.

The Royals were 7-0 to start the season before losing to the Twins and now they will try and close out the series with a victory. The teams have split the first two games and now the Royals come in off to one of their best starts in franchise history and they will try and continue that. The team had nine singles and could only muster up one run in the game against the Twins, who had Kyle Gibson on the mound.

The Tigers and Royals were the only undefeated teams this past week, but both now have lost and they are battling at the top of the central division. The teams were there last season and the Royals ended up making a run to the World Series and could be one of the favorites to do it again in 2015. Alex Rios went down with an injury after breaking a bone in his left hand and now the Royals have to find a way to replace his bat in the lineup.

Rios came over in the offseason and he was hitting well to start the season, putting up a .321 batting average with eight RBIs and a home run over the first week and a half of the season. Vargas comes in looking to get things going and he will be on the mound after winning three games against the Twins last season and averaging less than an earned run against them.

The Royals swept the Angels and the White Sox to start the season and now they have the chance to finish things off with the Twins. Rios is now on the DL and that means players like Eric Hosmer and Alex Gordon will have to pick it up. The Twins came in after losing three in a row to the White sox and Royals and they are just 2-6 on the season. The team blanked the White sox for their first win and now they are trying to get their first streak of the season.

The Tigers lead the division and this season the central could be one of the toughest in baseball. The White Sox and Indians are expected to be good and the Twins have improved as well, while the Royals and the Tigers are the faves.
