Liverpool and Newcastle United are playing live on the Barclays English Premier League schedule on Monday and the match is from Anfield and starts at 3 pm ET from the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as the Reds try and keep things going on the EPL table for manager Brendan Rodgers.

Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out for this match and defender Mamadou Sakho has been ruled out for up to four weeks with an injury. The Reds have been playing as good as anyone this part of the schedule in the second half and they have played back into contending position after a slow start. The team will get winger Jordon Ibe back from a knee injury, but both Mario Balotelli and Adam Lallana will be out of the match for the Reds.

Liverpool comes into the day at sixth on the league table and they can jump over Southampton with a win and they have the chance to make a run at the end of the season. Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard will be out for Liverpool and they will have to find a way to win without some key players, as they cannot afford to drop points along in this matchup. The two sides often score goals against each other and they have not had a head to head, scoreless draw in many years.

The team has the chance to get into the top four, but that will be only if the team wins out and someone falters down the stretch. The best chance for the team is to get into other qualifying and play that tough, as they may not get into that four for the Champs League. The team was out of the UCL after coming in second last year in the EPL and now they are just trying to get it going strong at the end.

The team has the chance for the FA Cup and that would be big for the team and they come in having not lost in 19 games at home to Newcastle. The team has not allowed a win against Newcastle at Anfield since the early 90s and that puts the pressure on the Reds to get it done again. The Reds were high scoring last season and there has been a major drop off, as ESPN FC writes that the team has 40 fewer goals than they did at this time last year.

Liverpool is looking to avoid back to back EPL losses, while Newcastle has lost the last four games in the Premier League.
