The Toronto Blue Jays and NY Yankees are playing on the MLB schedule on Thursday night and the matchup from Yankee Stadium in New York comes after the Yanks got their first win of the season and has CC Sabathia against Daniel Norris in an anticipated matchup for the series as the AL East rivals battle it out in the Bronx.

The Yankees got their first win of the season against the Jays on Wednesday night and while it was a sloppy game, they will take it. Michael Pineda was solid and they will need him to be that way and the team came back, scoring three runs in the eighth inning and they now have the chance to get things going in the final game of the series before playing Boston.

Dellin Betances got the win in the game and Andrew Miller got the save and now the team has a 1-1 record coming into the matchup on Thursday night. The Yankees scored on a wild pitch, hit by pitch and single in the eighth and that allowed them to take the lead. The team hung on in the ninth and now they have the first win of the season despite having two errors in the game.

The Yankees really needed this one and it came from a tiebreaking single from Chase Headley, who was signed in the offseason after being acquired in a trade last year. Pineda had six innings for the Yankees and they will need him to be at that level for most of the season, as they have some depth issues in the rotation. While Masahiro Tanaka is said to be fine, he did not look great on Opening Day and that could make Pineda the most important player for the Yankees this season.

Jacoby Ellsbury had two runs and made it on base four times and the Yankees now will look at getting a streak going after being able to get past RA Dickey. Norris is a big player for the Blue Jays and they expect the youngster to be a major contributor this season. Miller made his debut for the Yankees after signing a contract this offseason and he will be a player to watch for the team as well.

Sabathia is the third starter for the Yankees after being the Opening Day starter last year and the team is hoping that he can be a rock in the rotation. Last year Sabathia dealt with injuries and inconsistency and now he gets the chance to get off to a good start with the game on Thursday.
