The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the matchup from the TD Garden starts up at 7:30 pm ET and will be on NBATV as Marcus Smart and the Celts try and get back into playoff position in the east against the team they are just ahead of in the standings.

Indy is one game behind the Celtics after putting things together a bit over the last few weeks, while both teams are chasing the Nets for the final east playoff spot. The Pacers have hit a wall after that strong run and the Celtics come in 5-5 in the last 10, while the Pacers have only won two of 10 in the same stretch. Both teams would like to end the season in the playoffs for a glimmer of hope, but right now the Nets and Heat are in the last two spots in the conference.

The Celtics and Pacers last played earlier in the month and it came with the Celtics playing well, but now Boston has lost three in a row at home. The Celtics have won two of three games against the Pacers this season and this comes after the team won over the Pacers on the road on March 14. That game saw Avery Bradley score 16 points, while Tyler Zeller had 18 points for the Celtics.

Boston comes into things after a win on the road against the Hornets and now they will try and get things together at home. The win on Monday was a big one for the team, as they are now just a half game behind the Nets for the final playoff spot. The Nets have an easy game against the Knicks and that puts more pressure on the Celtics to get things done against the Pacers. Evan Turner knows how good the Pacers can be when they are on and he said that the team knows how important each game is down the stretch.

The Pacers were playing well, but they are now in a six game losing streak and that came after they had won two of three. The team has been to the playoffs for four straight seasons, but without Paul George and this latest stretch, they may miss out. The team lost against the Celtics to start that losing streak and Brooklyn won over Indy in their last matchup.

The game is big for both teams, as the Pacers can pull into a tie with the Celtics in the standings with a victory in Boston. The Pacers will need some help to get into the playoffs, as the Nets have the lead on the spot right now and a soft schedule with the Knicks coming up.
