The Seattle Seahawks are working on a contract extension with quarterback Russell Wilson this offseason and the two sides would like to get a deal done before the season starts and this comes as the team may target names like Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Breshad Perriman or TJ Yeldon in the NFL draft coming up in April.

According to NFL.com, the Seahawks may look at giving Wilson a fully guaranteed contract. Wilson has had great success since coming into the league and now he is getting to the time when he will sign his first major deal after being on his rookie contract. The Seahawks also come into the draft after trading their first round pick for Jimmy Graham. The team may look at wide receiver and running back as options in the draft and is comes after trading away Percy Harvin and signing back Marshawn Lynch.

The Seahawks and Wilson have been talking about a new deal and could be getting close to an agreement, according to ESPN. That was reported last week, but following that news, Pro Football Talk reported that Wilson and the Seahawks are not close to deal and have "not even started" talking yet. Wilson is in line to get paid and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports he could be the highest paid quarterback in the league once a deal is reached.

ESPN Insider Mel Kiper Jr. writes that the team could look at a receiver in the draft this year and Breshad Perriman could be an option out of Central Florida. Perriman had 50 catches for 1,044 yards and nine touchdowns last season and could be an option as a mid-round pick. The team also could look at adding depth behind Lynch, as players like TJ Yeldon and Tevin Coleman are coming out.

The Seahawks are coming into the draft with 11 picks this season after getting four compensatory picks and they will also be without a first round pick after trading it to acquire Jimmy Graham. The team has a number of areas they could look at in the draft, including running back, linebacker and wide receiver. Mel Kiper listed Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman and TJ Yeldon as potential draft targets at RB, while wide receiver Breshad Perriman from UCF could also be an option.

Gordon comes in after rushing for over 2400 yards last season and he had 29 touchdowns for the Badgers and could be a depth option behind Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks got rid of Percy Harvin last year and while they drafted two WRs last season in Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood, they could use more depth. Perriman comes in after making 50 catches for over 1000 yards last season and he has solid side at 6-foot-2, 212-pounds.

According to Adam Schefter at ESPN.com, Wilson could potentially get a fully guaranteed deal or close to it and the reason the Seahawks need to get a deal done is because Wilson does not have a fifth year option after being a third round draft pick. Players like Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin were first round picks and that is why they have fifth year options on their rookie deals. According to Ian Rapoport on Twitter, the Wilson deal could be up to 75 percent guaranteed.
