Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Matt Barkley, Evan Mathis Trade Options For Chip Kelly, Marcus Mariota Target In Draft With Tim Tebow Signing?

The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the most active teams this offseason and Chip Kelly could look at making more moves, as Matt Barkley and Evan Mathis have come up in trade rumors and this comes after the speculation about Marcus Mariota in the draft, the trade for Sam Bradford, the trades of Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy and after the team brought in Tim Tebow for a workout.

Kelly was given power over the roster this offseason and he has started to wield it, cutting players like Cary Williams and Trent Cole while signing Byron Maxwell, DeMarco Murray and acquiring Kiko Alonso. According to Pro Football Talk, the team is shopping third string quarterback Matt Barkley and this comes after the team brought in Tim Tebow for a workout. The report says that the team could look at signing Tebow if Barkley is traded, with NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reporting that there's an "80 percent chance" it could happen.

Kelly said to the media that the team was doing their "homework" on Tebow and that he has long been a fan of the quarterback. Barkley was drafted last year by Kelly and served as the third string quarterback behind Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez. Foles was traded for Bradford and Sanchez was re-signed and now Kelly could look at another deal for a quarterback. Pro Football Talk reports that the team would be willing to take a "late round pick" for Barkley.

The team has been mentioned in rumors about Marcus Mariota all offseason due to the connections to Chip Kelly, but the head coach has denied the team is interested in trading up. According to CSNPhilly.com, the team is shopping offensive lineman Evan Mathis and the Eagles could look at releasing him if they can't find a deal. Mathis is being shopped due to his $6.5 million cap hit and he would be yet another Eagles player to go after Cole, McCoy, Foles, Williams and Todd Herremans.

According to ESPN.com, some coaches in the league feel that Kelly will still try and acquire Mariota even after the team added Bradford. The team traded with the Rams for Bradford and now the Eagles could try to make another move up to get Mariota. Kelly did not originally draft Foles and that is one reason why he wanted to bring in a quarterback of his own and that could lead to another trade down the line.

Kelly has most of his draft picks for this year and could use some in a deal to move up to try and get Mariota. Kelly thinks Bradford will be a good fit for his system and it comes after Foles played in eight games last year, passing for 2163 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Foles had a great 2013 season with 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions while completing over 63 percent of his passes, but last season he was at 59 percent and had way more interceptions. That decline also could be a reason why Kelly felt comfortable moving on from Foles. The team won 10 games for the second straight season, but they missed the playoffs after winning the NFC East in 2013 in Kelly's first season in Philly.
