Trent Richardson was released by the Indianapolis Colts and now the free agent RB could have interest from a number of teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, NY Jets, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots after he was let go following his suspension at the end of the season.

Richardson is just 24 years old and that means he still has plenty of potential after being the third overall pick in the draft in 2012. According to Pro Football Talk, the Titans are going to "kick the tires" on Richardson and he could be an option to add depth to the roster. Richardson was placed on waivers and he will not be claimed and once he is clear he could be an option for teams.

Last season Richardson was a major disappointment with 519 yards and three touchdowns and it was a steep drop from his rookie season. Richardson has been a mess since coming to the Colts and he will be 25 in July. Richardson comes in averaging three yards per carry in his time with the Colts and that was one of the major issues for him and the team.

The Cardinals could be an option after the way they rushed the ball last season, while the Jets cut loose Chris Johnson and could be a fit. The Patriots lost Shane Vereen and could look at Richardson as an option, while the Chargers lost Ryan Mathews and he could be a potential fit. The Colts did not get what they wanted from Richardson and they cut him loose and now he will try and get his money back after he was suspended and released.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the team suspended Richardson after the running back was absent from the Colts' walk-through before the AFC Championship Game and due to other issues. Richardson had a strong rookie season with 950 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns along with 51 receptions, but since then he has been a major disappointment. Richardson has not averaged more than 3.6 yards per carry in any of his three seasons in the NFL and now his future is up in the air after losing his job to Dan Herron this past season.

The Colts traded a top pick for Richardson last year and he had an inconsistent season after that, but many expected improvement with a full year with the team. That did not happen and now other teams could be interested in Richardson. Richardson has filed a grievance over his suspension and is looking to get the $3 million that he was owed for this season.
