The NY Knicks are coming into the offseason with free agency on their minds and names like Rajon Rondo, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Monroe, Tobias Harris, Marc Gasol and Goran Dragic could be potential targets for Carmelo Anthony and this comes as the team is hoping to get Duke star Jahlil Okafor with the top pick in the draft.

The Knicks will have a ton of money to spend and while they have been terrible this season, it gives them the chance to compete for free agents. According to Marc Stein at ESPN.com, the Knicks will be going hardest after Gasol, Rondo and Dragic on the market. But since those players are also being targets by their own teams and others, the Knicks also have backup options. Harris could be an interesting option if he hits the market, while Reggie Jackson will be a restricted free agent along with Jimmy Butler.

Butler was set to be a target for the Knicks, but after the Derrick Rose injury there is no way the Bulls let him go. The team could go after Monroe if Gasol opts to stay with the Grizzlies, while LaMarcus Aldridge could be a target, but he is widely expected to stay in Portland. Rondo has had some issues with the Mavericks and if he leaves he could be a target as well. Dragic is coming into the offseason after being traded to the Miami Heat and that means he likely will be a major target for them and could stay. The Lakers are also expected to go after Dragic.

The Knicks come into the week at 10-45 overall and they are the favorites to be the worst team in the league, even worse than the Sixers. Carmelo Anthony is done for the year and the team is made up of players that most of the fans don't know. Phil Jackson is hoping to break things down enough so that he can land some big players and right now everything has been mostly a mess. The team comes in as one of the worst statically in the league and they don't look pretty on the court either.

The Knicks are coming off of another tough loss against the Cavaliers and coming down the stretch Jackson is hoping the team loses as many games as they can. Okafor is the main target and he could be the next can't miss draft prospect and the Knicks desperately need him. The team comes in ranked 29th in the league in scoring and 29th in rebounding and they are also in the bottom half of the league in defense. The Knicks need to add talent and while they would love to get Kevin Durant down the line in 2016, that likely is not going to happen without some major improvement from the Knicks.
