The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan State Spartans are playing on the Big Ten college basketball schedule on Saturday and the game is live from the Breslin Center and starts at 12 pm noon ET on ESPN and the WatchESPN website online as OSU and MSU face off in a conference matchup.
The Buckeyes come into the game ranked 23rd in the nation and they are 19-6 on the season and 8-4 in conference play. The team won over Penn State in their last game and they will matchup against Michigan after playing against Michigan State. The Buckeyes are ranked 15th in points per game this year at 78 points and they are third in field goal percentage. The team is 12th in assists per game and the defense is allowing just 61 points per contest.
The season is coming to a close and Ohio State is hoping to finish strong after winning their last two games over Penn State and Rutgers. The team has won five of the last six games and they have a tough schedule to finish the year with Michigan, Purdue and Wisconsin on the calendar and that final game is at home against the Badgers. D'Angelo Russell is leading the Buckeyes in scoring and rebounds this season and he will be the main focus for the Spartans.
Michigan State is fifth in the Big Ten and they are 16-8 this season and 7-4 within the conference. The Spartans come into the game after a win against Northwestern and they held the team to just 44 points and they will play against Michigan next on the schedule after Ohio State. The team comes in averaging 72 points per game and they are 18th in the nation in rebounds on offense and fifth in the nation in assists per game.
The Spartans come in after winning three of the past four games and they have two games against ranked teams coming down the stretch. The team has the fifth ranked Badgers in the second stretch and they also matchup with Illinois, Purdue and Minnesota. Russell comes in after leading the team in assists against Penn State and he has been the star for the Buckeyes this season.
