Cleveland Browns Rumors: Brian Hoyer Return Option After Johnny Manziel Rehab With Ndamukong Suh, Randall Cobb, Julius Thomas Free Agent Targets?

The Cleveland Browns may look at bringing back Brian Hoyer after the offseason issues with Johnny Manziel and this comes as the team has a ton of cap space to use in free agency and names like Jeremy Maclin, Ndamukong Suh, Randall Cobb, Julius Thomas, Jermaine Gresham, Walter Thurmond, Byron Maxwell and Mark Ingram could be potential targets.

The Browns are projected to have over $40 million in cap space and with the way 2014 ended, the team could be willing to spend into next season. According to ESPN.com, Ray Farmer has said that the team has considered bringing back quarterback Brian Hoyer at the right price in free agency and that they are supporting Johnny Manziel as he enters rehab treatment. The Browns finished last season on a five game losing streak and they have been dealing with numerous crises, including Manziel, Josh Gordon's suspension and Farmer's text messaging investigation.

According to Jeremy Fowler at ESPN.com, there is a good chance the Browns look at spending this offseason and WR could be an area of focus with Gordon suspended again. Jeremy Maclin and Randall Cobb are two names on the market that will be getting a lot of attention, while Torrey Smith and Cecil Shorts also could be potential options. Pro Football Talk reports that Jordan Cameron is expected to leave Cleveland and that could mean the team may target Julius Thomas or Jermaine Gresham in free agency.

Randall Cobb is hitting the market for the Packers and while NFL.com reports that Cobb "prefers" to stay in Green Bay, there is a chance that he could price out if he looks for a big contract. Jeremy Fowler at ESPN.com writes that Cobb could be a main target with Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas expected to stay with their original teams. Cobb had 91 catches for 1287 yards and 12 touchdowns last season while playing with Aaron Rodgers. Gordon was suspended for 10 games last season to start the year and he only played in five games before getting suspended by the team for Week 17.

Gordon is now facing another suspension and he will be out for the 2015 season for Cleveland. Maclin is a strong option on the market, as he could leave Philadelphia after having a bounce back season after missing 2013 with an injury. Maclin set career highs last year with 85 receptions and 1318 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Eagles and he could be a potential target, as the Newark Star-Ledger reports the two sides have "hit a wall" in contract talks.

Julius Thomas is another potential target, as Jordan Cameron is expected to leave Cleveland and he is the top tight end on the market. Thomas has had 24 touchdown receptions over the last two seasons, including 12 last year, and he could price out of Denver, as the team also has to sign Demaryius Thomas. Pro Football Talk reports that Cameron is "not interested" in coming back to Cleveland next year and that could open things up for Thomas or Jermaine Gresham on the market.
