The Seattle Seahawks are hunger for a championship. The team has been promoting themselves as the next-best dynasty in the NFL and they are ready to make that come true with a second-straight Super Bowl win. However, in order to do that they will have to battle with the legend of the New England Patriots who have had a dynasty of their own. The Seahawks and Patriots will now go head-to-head in Arizona to be the 2015 champion.
The Seahawks are looking to begin a legacy of their own. Seattle has Russell Wilson leading the team once again as the quarterback looks for back-to-back wins. The team will lean on their defense with Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett and Earl Thomas who have not yielded a 10-yard rusher since Jamaal Charles. They will let their own rusher put up big numbers as Marshawn Lynch comes in after putting up 157 yards and touchdown against Green Bay.
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are looking to defend their legacy. The duo is 3-2 in Super Bowls which beats Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin. Brady will become the first quarterback to start six Super Bowls while he aims to join both Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana as the only quarterbacks to win four titles.
New England did not start out as Super Bowl contenders. The team went 2-2 to begin the year while Brady struggled with just a 79.1 passer rating. The team certainly turned things around winning their next 10 of 11 games while Brady tossed 29 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He will rely on Rob Gronkowski who bounced back well after a injured-riddled 2013 to put up 1,124 yards and touchdowns. LeGarrette Blount is also having a comeback with the Patriots as the running back put up 148 yards and three touchdowns against the Colts.
The Patriots have not won back-to-back Super Bowls in over a decade. No team has accomplished the feat since. However, the Seattle Seahawks have a chance to break that trend and become the first team since New England to get back-to-back wins. The last time New England played a Super Bowl in Arizona, they were facing Spygate charges. Now they find themselves deep in controversy once again as the Patriots are being questioned about 12 deflated balls use in the win over Indianapolis. The team stresses they did nothing wrong and are simply moving on.
The 2015 Super Bowl is a challenge between the young uprising of the Seattle Seahawks and the defending of a legacy with the New England Patriots. Over the past two years, no team has been hotter than the Seattle Seahawks, winners of the 2014 Super Bowl. However, over the past decade, no team has worked harder to build a legacy than the New England Patriots who their impressive Super Bowl resume as well. Now both teams will face off in Arizona as the NFL season comes to a close.
