The Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night and the matchup from Quicken Loans Arena is starting at 7 pm ET as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge take the court and it comes as the Cavs are on a winning streak.
The Cavaliers have won seven games in a row and they come in after a win against the Detroit Pistons. The team has the Sacramento Kings next after the matchup with the Blazers and the team comes in at 26-20. The Cavs are second in the central division this season and they come in after another solid win and that saw Irving lead the way with 38 points. James was tops in assists and he comes in leading the team and has been playing very well since coming back from an injury.
The Cavaliers have been playing well on offense and have averaged over 100 points during this stretch of wins and now they have a tough team with the Blazers coming to town. The Blazers come in at 32-13 on the season and they have Aldridge in the lineup despite him dealing with a thumb injury that may need surgery. The Blazers come in after their game against the Nets was postponed and they will matchup next against the Atlanta Hawks and that will also be on the road. Portland and Atlanta is a prime matchup, as the Hawks have played the best of anyone over the past two months and are best in the eastern conference.
The Blazers come in averaging 103 points per game and they ranked seventh in the league in points per game and they have continued to score in bunches. The team is in first place in the northwest division and they come in after winning a playoff series last season. The team is ranked third in rebounds per game and fifth in points allowed per game and now they matchup with the Cavs and come in at 12-8 on the road overall this year.
Aldridge is having another great season and is leading the Blazers in scoring and rebounds with 23 points and 10 rebounds per game, while James is leading in points and assists for the Cavaliers. James is a game time decision for this game while dealing with a wrist injury and this comes after he has returned from a two week absence earlier in the month. The team played a tough stretch and lost some games, but they have now won seven in a row, while the Blazers come in losing five of the past six games.
