While the Miami Dolphins insist they do not have quarterback issues opting to fully invest in Ryan Tannehill, they do have problems with the wide receiver position. The team has three receivers taking up a majority of the salary cap space and not producing the stats to go along with it. Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson are all having their futures put into question as the Dolphins aim for more salary cap space and the rise of Jarvis Landry is making one of them expendable.

Landry was one of the breakout stars of 2014. In 11 starts, the wide receiver put up 758 yards and five touchdowns while also averaging 28.1 yards on kickoff returns. The rookie was impressive and left the Dolphins excited for his future on the field with the team. The versatile receiver will likely enter 2015 as one of the team's leading receivers which means either Wallace, Hartline or Gibson will end up on the outside looking in.

Wallace has admitted that he could be the receiver out and team officials have confirmed that idea. General manager Dennis Hickey told the media that the Dolphins were looking at all potential roster moves and he as not certain what Wallace's future holds. The biggest issue for the wide receiver is his contract in which the Dolphins can save $6.9 million in cap space if they drop Wallace. According to the Miami Herald, a release of the wide receiver could be the best long-term move for the team moving forward.

While Wallace continues to hear that he might be moving on from Miami, Hartline has heard nothing and he is simply hoping communication improves before the offseason starts. Hartline has been a consistent threat for Miami, but again money issues have the receiver potentially moving on. He told the Miami Herald that he understands the NFL is business and moves have to be made with in mind, but he is requesting the Dolphins communicate and are upfront with their decision making.

"I just hope everything is communicated efficiently, effectively and not drawn out," Hartline said. "I hope I can quickly get to a point where I'm thinking about winning football games for the Miami Dolphins instead of thinking about the business side of things that sometimes cloud judgment."

The Dolphins have a lot of decisions to make. They will still need to replace whoever is released and could aim for someone like Michael Crabtree or Torrey Smith who will command less money in free agency. They could also try and strike gold again in the draft like they did with Landry.
