The Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers are playing live on the NHL schedule on Tuesday night and the matchup is on NBC Sports Network and streaming from the NBCSN Live Extra website as the Pennsylvania rivalry goes down and the game starts at 7:30 pm ET as Sidney Crosby leads the Pens to the ice.

The Penguins come into the game second in their division and they are looking to bounce back after a bad loss to the Rangers. The team lost 5-2 against the team at home and that came after the Rangers previously came back from a 3-1 deficit in the playoffs last year. That still has left a sour taste in the mouths of the Penguins and they have not been able to get even for it yet. The team has the Flyers and then plays against the Blackhawks in a tough matchup.

The Penguins come into the game with Crosby leading the way as usual and the team is ranked fifth in the league in scoring on goals per game. The team is also ranked eighth in goals against and in the top 10 in special teams, as they are in the top five in both penalty kill and power play percentage. Evgeni Malkin has been playing well alongside Crosby and the team is looking to make a major run this season. The Islanders are currently leading the division and the Penguins are second.

The Flyers come into the game after giving up seven goals to those Islanders and they will host the Coyotes next after the matchup with the Penguins. The Flyers have not been good this season and they are fifth in the division standings, but way behind the fourth place team, as they have just 43 points on the year. The Flyers also lost to the Rangers last year in the playoffs, but that was in the first round. The team lost in a seven game series and now they are trying to get things into the right direction.

The Flyers come into the game as one of the worst teams overall in the league, as they are 30th in penalty kill percentage and 24th in goals against the team is 18th in scoring and they are sixth overall in power play percentage, the lone unit that is playing well. Crosby comes into the game leading the Penguins in assists and points, while Malkin is tops in goals and that is no surprise. Jakub Voracek has been the top player for the Flyers, as he is leading Philly in points, goals and assists this season and he has been playing very well fo late. The team has relied on him heavily and against Pitt he has two goals and six points in his last three games with the Penguins and they will also rely on Claude Giroux.
