Colin Kaepernick #7 of the San Francisco 49ers hands off to Frank Gore #21 of the San Francisco 49ers against the Washington Redskins at Levi's Stadium on November 23, 2014 in Santa Clara, California."

The San Francisco 49ers are in for some changes after Jim Harbaugh was let go and names like Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree and Brandon Lloyd could be gone in free agency for quarterback Colin Kaepernick and those names could be potential targets for the Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III, as the team hired former Niners exec Scot McCloughan to the front office and now Jim Tomsula has been hired head coach for the 49ers.

According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, Gore and Crabtree could be potential targets in Washington with the Redskins, as the team will have money to spend and could reshape the roster after hiring former Niners exec Scot McCloughan. Gore was a draft pick of McCloughan's and he has spoken highly of the running back, who is hitting the market at age 31. The Niners have Carlos Hyde and may look at letting Gore go and if they do, the Redskins likely will be an option.

Crabrtee had a solid season, while Gore was once again over 1100 yards and that is the fourth straight season he has done that. Gore has been as consistent as anyone in the NFL over his career, as he has gone for at least 1000 yards in all but two seasons and the last time was back in 2010. Gore averaged at least 4.0 yards per carry and he could be a perfect fit for Gruden and McCloughan in Washington. UPDATE: From PFT: Jim Tomsula is the head coach pick for the 49ers.

Gore has shown that he still has some gas in the tank and with that in mind, the Redskins may go after him as they need a solid backup for Alfred Morris. Morris has been worked hard over the past couple seasons and adding someone like Gore that also can contribute would be huge for the Redskins offense. McCloughan said that it's too soon to give up on RG3 and that means the team likely will continue looking to add players on offense for Griffin and Jay Gruden.

The 49ers are going to be a different team next season, as they will have a new head coach and likely a number of new names on the roster. With Crabtree and Gore coming up in free agency, there is a good chance those players will get attention from other teams and could sign elsewhere. The Niners went 8-8 last season and missed the playoffs for the first time under Harbaugh and now Harbaugh is at Michigan and the Niners are trying to find a new head coach.

Colin Kaepernick regressed a bit this season and moving forward the team has to see if he is the long term solution in San Francisco. The Redskins had another disappointing season in 2014 with Jay Gruden coming in for year one and now they have shaken things up in the front office. Bruce Allen was doing a good job for the team and now McCloughan is in to make the personnel choices.

The Washington Redskins could be in for some major changes in 2015 after hiring Scot McCloughan to be general manager, as he could look at bringing players like Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Ahmad Brooks and Mike Iupati from his days with the Niners. Some of those players may end up on the free agent market and this comes as McCloughan says it's too early to give up on Robert Griffin III. Brooks may get released, while Crabtree and Gore are free agents.
