The Arizona Cardinals will have Ryan Lindley under center to start again in Week 17 for injured starter Drew Stanton and this comes after head coach Bruce Arians said that Logan Thomas would get the chance to start against the San Francisco 49ers.

According to ESPN.com, Lindley will be starting this week for the Cardinals, who have clinched a playoff spot but are also still alive for the NFC West division title despite losing to the Seattle Seahawks. Arians said that Stanton could be back for the playoffs after getting his knee scoped, but that it was not a 100 percent certainty.

Carson Palmer injured his knee in the middle of the season to give Stanton a chance and now that he has gone down, Lindley has been starting. Stanton had his knee drained and an infection was discovered and that could keep him out for a bit longer. Arians said that it was "realistic" that Stanton could return for the playoffs, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to. Lindley has 246 yards and one interception in two games played this season and now he likely will be the starter going into the playoffs.

The Cardinals come into the final week of the season at 11-4 on the season and they are tied for first with the Seahawks in the west, but don't have the head to head wins. The team is ranked 16th in passing offense this season and 30th in rushing, yet they are going to the playoffs. The team is 30th in passing yards allowed per game and eighth in rushing yards per game allowed this season.
