The New York Jets are preparing to overhaul the organization in the offseason which will stem from players on the roster to the people in the front office. Head coach Rex Ryan has admitted he is aware his time is likely coming to an end along with general manager John Idzik. The jury is still out on which players could be back, the biggest question mark being on the head of Geno Smith. however, the quarterback told the media that he is hopeful to be a part of the Jets' rebuilding next season.

Smith has remained very confident in his abilities despite his low stats over the past two years. He has played a big role in the team's 3-12 record this season and has yet to truly show potential as an NFL quarterback since getting drafted in the second-round two years ago. However, Smith believes that he can help lead the Jets back to a winning record in the coming years.

"I see myself being the quarterback here for a long time," Smith said, via ESPNNewYork.com. "I see myself helping this team turn things around. Obviously, I'm part of the reason why we're in this position, so I'd love to be part of the solution.I know that it takes hard work and not everyone is going to see the same things, but within this locker room, within this group of guys, we all see the potential we have as a team. Obviously, that's not saying much with the record we have right now, but we believe we can turn things around."

The Jets will likely have a top-6 draft pick to work with in 2015 and the New York Daily News is reporting the Jets remain very interested in both Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston. With Michael Vick likely not returning to the franchise, the Jets need someone to either take over as starter or push Smith to improve. Both rookies would be a quality addition to the Jets, but would likely cost the Jets in return.

The team has been viewed as a strong fit for Robert Griffin III if Washington opts to trade the quarterback and start over. The Jets could look at Jay Cutler even though the contract is not something New York can afford to take on. They might also be tempted to look at free agents like Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett to help. Smith has confidence that he can be the answer for New York, but it is unclear if they feel the same way.
