The NY Giants have won the last two games and it appears that head coach Tom Coughlin will be safe into next season despite missing the playoffs for the third straight season and it comes after strong performances from Eli Manning, Odell Beckham, Andre Williams and the defense the past two weeks.

The Giants are now 5-9 on the season after winning back to back games against the Titans and Redskins and that could be enough to save Coughlin's job. Odell Beckham has turned out to be a star for the Giants and he is currently the frontrunner for rookie of the year after the way he has played in this 10 game stretch. The Giants have the chance to finish the season with four straight wins after losing seven straight games and they are hoping to finish on a positive streak.

The New York Post reported over the weekend that the Giants are leaning towards keeping Coughlin and that if the season was over now, he would remain head coach. Steve Serby wrote that sources in the organization said that Coughlin is highly likely to return and the paper put the number at "99 percent" over the weekend, sensing that the team's confidence is behind that decision. Coughlin has won two Super Bowl championships with the Giants and even if the team did make a change, there is no one on the market as successful as he has been.

The Giants know that Coughlin is a great coach despite missing the playoffs over the past few years and on top of that, the team has placed 22 players in IR this season. The team has lost a number of key players over the season, including Victor Cruz and while Coughlin should have done better this season, it doesn't all fall on him. The Giants appear likely to keep Coughlin and that is a smart move, as they really don't have many other opinions that would be "better" out there next season.

The Giants just brought in a new offensive coordinator with a brand new scheme, so it's not a total surprise that things did not click at all times this season. Eli Manning will have another year in the offense and now Beckham has emerged as a strong player and he will get the chance to play alongside Victor Cruz next year. The offense should be much better and if Rashad Jennings can stay healthy, the running game should be more consistent as well.

The defense has been the main issue for the Giants and they come in ranked 30th in the league against the run. If they can improve that a bit and continue to rush the passer on a consistent basis, they should be able to bounce back in 2015. Some Giants fans have yelled for Coughlin to go, but the true fans realize that right now in this point of transition, he is the best option for the team.
