Manchester United and Liverpool are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Sunday and the match from Old Trafford starts at 8:30 am ET and the match will be on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as the EPL action kicks off and Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Mario Balotelli all should be in action.

Manchester United has played very well over the past couple weeks and they have continued to move up the Premier League table and now they are in the top standings heading into Sunday. Liverpool has had a tough season and they are hoping Balotelli can return after missing six games with a groin injury. Wayne Rooney is getting his legs back and the team has been rolling recently, coming in after a win against Southampton.

Jonny Evans is expected to start after coming in for Chris Smalling against Southampton on Monday, while Phil Jones should be back. The team will be without Angel di Maria and Luke Shaw in the matchup and they come in seven points up on Liverpool. The Reds just washed out of the Champions League and they come in after previously winning against Manchester United in March at Old Trafford and now the two clubs will go at it again. Liverpool pulled home draws against Sunderland and Basel and now Brendan Rodgers has been under the microscope.

The win last year saw Gerrard scored two penalties and it was in the middle of a dream season for Liverpool that saw the team finish second in the EPL. Man United usually plays very well at home and they have won 10 of the last 12 matchups at the stadium head to head against Liverpool, with one of those defeats coming last March. United has been on a roll and they have won five straight matches and have been playing much better this year than last season, as they have six places up compared to where they were at this time last year.

The Reds were one of the highest scoring teams in the league last season, but they have lost that with Luis Suarez gone and injuries coming down this year. The team is seven places back of where they were last year and nine points off compared to how much they had and they are 15 points behind Chelsea, a lead that likely is impossible to catch up with. The Reds can hope to get into the top four, but with the way they have been playing that is looking like an unlikely result.

Man United comes in despite having just three shots against Southampton and they still pulled that out and now they have the chance to matchup with Liverpool. Robin van Persie has scored six times in his past nine games in the EPL against the Reds. Man United is looking to get over 30 points and they want to at least keep pace with Man City and Chelsea in the top three as the schedule pushes towards the holiday games.
