The English Premier League table has Chelsea leading things and Manchester United is looking to move up in the EPL standings, as they trail Man City, West Ham and Southampton coming into Monday after the weekend schedule and Man Utd will be in action against the Saints and that will be at St. Mary's as the teams face off to end the week.

Chelsea remains the most consistent team in the EPL this season and they are in first place with 36 points, while Man City is second in the standings with 33. Chelsea finally lost a match after being undefeated through 14 games of the regular season, but they still retain the lead on the EPL table. The Blues have the best goal differential and the most goals this season, but now they have just a three point lead over City.

West Ham is in third place and they have eight wins this season and they are six points back of Man City. Chelsea appears to be firm in their place as one of the top four teams, as they have such a big lead over the third place side and they can afford a loss at this point. Chelsea has an 11-3-1 record this season and they are leading the league in wins and points overall. West Ham is in third ahead of Southampton and they are behind by a point, while Manchester United is one point back of the Saints coming in.

Arsenal comes in at sixth place in the league standings and they are tied with Newcastle on points. Swansea City is in eighth place after their matchup, while Liverpool and Tottenham are in ninth and tenth on the league table. Newcastle won over Chelsea in a surprise result, but the Blues were bound to lose eventually, while Stoke City won over Arsenal and Hull City drew with West Brom. Tottenham and Crystal Palace had a draw, while Liverpool and Sunderland played scores and Man City won over Everton on Saturday before West Ham and Aston Villa pulled victories on Sunday.

Man United comes into the game against Southampton after a win and they have some tough matchups coming with Liverpool and Tottenham on the schedule. The team doesn't see Chelsea again for a while along with some other top teams and this month they have the chance to keep moving up the league standings. Man United has been playing very well and this schedule gives the team the chance to cut into the Blues, especially with Chelsea losing their first game this season.

The top of the table has Chelsea and Man City leading West Ham, Southampton and Man United and Man U is hoping to get into the top four with a win here. The middle of the table has teams like Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa as well as Everton, while Hull, Burnley and Leicester are at the bottom of the standings.
