Dec 02, 2014 07:23 PM EST

The LA Lakers and Detroit Pistons are playing live on the NBA schedule on Tuesday night as Los Angeles plays at the Palace of Auburn Hills and things tip off at 7:30 pm ET as Kobe Bryant and Greg Monroe face off in Michigan it comes after a rare win for the Lakers, who actually have a better record than the Pistons right now.

The Lakers rarely get to play a team with fewer wins than they have, but they get the chance to do that on Tuesday night, as they have three wins and the Pistons have three wins. The Lakers come in after a win over the Raptors in overtime and they will next play against the Washington Wizards on the road. The team is in last in the Pacific and they come in at eighth in points per game this season, but 30th in points allowed, last in the league.

The Lakers have Bryant scoring the rock quite a bit at 26 points per game and against the Raptors he had 31 points. Bryant also added 12 assists and had the 20th triple-double of his career, an impressive game for the Lakers considering the Raptors are in first place. Byron Scott knew the Lakers would be bad this season, but he did not expect them to be this bad and he has challenged his team to play better on defense.

Scott said that he wants teams to fear playing the Lakers and that no game should be a walkover, no matter who the opponent is. Bryant is playing at a high level and this has been a tough process, but if the team can add a major player next summer, they could turn around quickly. The Lakers will be targeting Rajon Rondo and Marc Gasol next summer and those could be the game changers that come in at the end of Bryant's career. The Lakers have two wins in seven tries on the road and now Bryant will be looking for another strong game after the Raptors performance.

The Lakers have played well against the Eastern conference and three of their four wins have come against the East. The team took down a division leader in the Raptors and now they have the Wizards and the Celtics for a classic matchup on this road trip. The Pistons come into the game after a loss against the Warriors and they next will play the Boston Celtics on Wednesday and they come in at eighth in rebounds per game.
