The Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets are playing live on the NBA schedule on Sunday and the game from the Barclays Center starts up at 3 pm ET as the eastern conference rivals matchup and it has Derrick Rose against Deron Williams as weekend basketball action tips off.
The Bulls come into the game after a win against the Boston Celtics and they will host the Dallas Mavericks next on the schedule. The team is 10-6 on the season and they are first in the central division and they will looking at keeping things going as they are off to a strong start this year. The Bulls are averaging 101 points per game this season and Derrick Rose has been in an out of the lineup and that has given Jimmy Butler more playing time.
Butler has been playing very well and he is the leading scorer for the team while Pau Gasol has been strong to start the season as well. Rose had 21 points in the win over the Celtics, while Butler led the Bulls with 22 points in the game. Butler has played a ton of minutes this season with Rose limited and he has come through for the Bulls and they would be in a tough spot without him playing like this. Butler is averaging 21 points per game and the Bulls are leading the Bucks and Cavs in the division standings.
The Nets come into the game after a win against the Sixers and they will next play at MSG against the Knicks on Tuesday. The team is 6-8 on the season and they are averaging 99 points per game and they come in after seeing Joe Johnson lead the team with 21 points against the 76ers. The team is allowing 100 points per game his season and they are second in the Atlantic division standings, while the Knicks have struggled this season and have just four wins heading into Sunday.
Gasol is leading the Bulls in rebounding, while the Nets have Kevin Garnett tops and now both teams are looking to get a win here. Rose has dealt with multiple injuries coming in this season and he has been in and out of the lineup, but he says that he is ready to start playing more consistently. Joakim Noah has played well this season and he had 15 points and 14 rebounds in the game against the Bulls.
