NY Jets Rumors: Geno Smith, Michael Vick Replaced by Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, Colt McCoy as Marcus Mariota, Brett Hundley Drafted Over Jameis Winston in 2015?

Rex Ryan is certain about one thing, he will not be fired before the end of the season. However, the New York Jets head coach has no idea who will be starting for the team at quarterback in Week 13. The meltdown continued as the Jets were throttled by the Buffalo Bills on Monday as both Michael Vick and Geno Smith failed to make any kind of impact. Who starts on Sunday is anyone's guess, but the Jets appear on their way to making changes in the offseason.

The boxscore for the Jets is ugly. Michael Vick started the game and went 7 for 19 for 76 yards and one interception. He was also sacked five times. Geno Smith replaced the veteran for his first bit of action in two games and went 10 for 12 for 89 yards while taking two sacks. The result was the Jets dropping to 2-9 and being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. With another disappointing season in the books, ryan has no clue where to take the team in Week 13.

"We'll address that later," Ryan said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. "I don't know yet. We'll figure it out. I want to see how they look [after evaluating the tape of Monday's game]. Sometimes, you can have a feel and a sense of it on the field. When you watch the tape, maybe you see a different opinion. We'll take a look at it and do what we think is best. We also had some shots where I thought we really could've completed some passes. But it wasn't just [Vick]. The protection, he was under duress almost the whole game."

The Jets are likely landing a top five draft pick this season and must decide exactly how to use it. Vick is working on an expiring contract. The Smith experiment has failed to this point. The idea of Mark Sanchez returning is laughable. With the Jets likely making changes to the front office, could the team make a move to trade for someone or draft a player like Jameis Winston?

ESPN's Rich Cimini speculates that the likelihood of the Jets trading for someone like Johnny Manziel is very slim. NFL sources believe the Jets could make a play for someone like Marcus Mariota or Brett Hundley in the draft as Winston is viewed as a risk pick. The team could also target players like Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett or even Colt McCoy. The rest of the season is likely going to be much of the same for New York so the team must start focusing on who stays and who goes in the offseason.
