English Premier League Table: Chelsea Leads EPL Standings Over Manchester City, Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool

The English Premier League table has Chelsea leading the Barclays EPL standings coming out of the weekend and the Blues are tops over Southampton, Manchester City, Arsenal, West Ham, Swansea City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United and they continue to the be the top scoring team in the league on goals so far in the 2014-15 campaign.

The Blues have been the best record in the league this season and they are four points clear of Southampton heading into next weekend. The team has Champions League play this week and then a major matchup with Liverpool coming up on the schedule. Chelsea has eight wins on the season and zero losses so far and they have two draws and the best goal differential in the league tied with Southampton. Chelsea has been the highest scoring team in the league and they are looking to continue that against Liverpool next week.

Southampton is second in the league standings and they are tied with Chelsea on goal differential and they are four points back with 22. Man City is right there with 20 points and they have been scoring quite a bit as well, but they are alloying more goals so far than last season. The team is in the top three of the standings after winning things last year and they are looking to stay in the mix as the season wears on.

Arsenal is in the top four and they are tied on points with West Ham and they are just ahead in goal differential. The Gunners have been up and down a bit to start the season, but they are right in the mix with four wins and five draws and they need to turn some of those ties into more points moving forward. The Gunners and West Ham have 17 points each and behind is Swansea City in fifth place. The Swans have 15 points and they are just ahead of Liverpool and Tottenham in the standings.

Everton and Tottenham are in above Manchester United for the time being and Man Utd is in the 10th spot on the league table, tied on points with a number of teams. West Brom, Newcastle and Stoke City are behind and they are ahead of Hull and Sunderland. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are next, while Leicester, QPR and Burnley are pulling up the rear.

The schedule this week has some interesting games and matchups where points will be at stake, including for Man City against QPR, as those should be easy points, even away. Liverpool hosts Chelsea at Anfield, while Swansea City and Arsenal play Sunday. Man United hosts Crystal at Old Trafford, while West Brom and Newcastle face off along with Sunderland and Everton.
