The Toronto Blue Jays complete a 10-player deal in which Francisco Cordero is involved. He will now be pitching for the Houston Astros"

General Manager Jeff Luhnow of the Houston Astros has announced a 10-player trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Astros are set to received seven players in the deal from Toronto. This includes two player league players, relief pitcher Francisco Cordero and outfielder Ben Francisco. The heavy load of the deal currently includes four minor leaguers, pitchers Joe Mugroce, Asher Wojciechowski and David Rollins, plus, catcher Carlos Perez.

There is a player to be named later.

The Blue Jays in return get right-handed pitcher Brandon Lyon and David Carpenter along with lefty J.A. Happ.

The point of the deal, as GM Luhnow will tell you, "Adding depth to our minor league system with quality young players."

Two of the players the Houston Astros received are for first-round picks.

For Houston it is a great move. They have recently unloaded top quality stars in the last two seasons.

They got rid of Roy Oswalt, Hunter Pence, Michael Bourn and Carlos Lee. They have not had any success after appearing in the 2005 World Series, which they lost to the Chicago White Sox.

Both Musgrove and Wojciechowski are big pitchers. Musgrove is 19, he is 6' 5"  and Wojciechowski, 23-years-old, is 6' 4".

The Astros have proven they can develop young players in their minor league system. They currently have a great second baseman in Jose Altuve who has taken the league by storm in 2012.

Both teams are not considered to be competitors in 2012. Both teams are in last place in their respective divisions.

The Houston Astros are 18.5 games behind the National League Central leading Cincinnati Reds. The Blue Jays are 12 games behind the American League East leading New York Yankees.
