Mike Wallace made headlines when he once again called out the Miami Dolphins offense as the team continues to struggle with consistency. Wallace placed some blame on quarterback Ryan Tannehill and his lack of a deep ball as a main reason the wide receiver is not finding the endzone. Of course it sounded as if Wallace was starting to earn a "diva" reputation, but the veteran clarified the remarks saying it was more of a frank assessment.

Wallace signed on with the Dolphins to be their No. 1 deep threat. After building a solid reputation with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the receiver signed a large free agency contract to become Tannehill's safety blanket and top scoring threat. However, that has not come to fruition just yet leaving Wallace to complain about the game plan.

"Y'all asked me a question and I told y'all my honest answer. That's just what it is," Wallace, said via the Miami Herald. "I don't look at stuff in the media or whatever to get me fired up. I get fired up just 'cause that's what we do. We love to play this game and you just want to go out and be the best player you can be. You should be fired up anyway - not because of nothing I say or my teammates or coaches say."

The Dolphins got a win in Week 8, but once again struggled on offense as two interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Now there is speculation that Wallace's comments are becoming a distraction and causing friction between he and the coaching staff. The Miami Herald has already reference Wallace's name to trade rumors in the past considering his contract size. Could this be what pushes things over the edge?

"There was no disconnect between me and the coaches," Wallace said. "We're all on the same page. We all want what's best for the team. We all want to win, we all want to get our offense where we want to go and that's the top. If we're not No. 1, we're behind."

The issue for Wallace is there is a rookie hot on his track. Jarvis Landry is quickly developing into a real threat for the Dolphins. Charles Clay is also becoming a strong option at the tight end position while Brian Hartline moves up as a reliable target as well. Wallace could find himself expendable if he does not start to build chemistry with Tannehill.
