Oct 29, 2014 07:34 PM EDT

The Washington Wizards and Miami Heat are playing live on the NBA season opener schedule on Wednesday and the game is live from AmericanAirlines Arena at 7:30 pm ET as Dwyane Wade and John Wall battle to start the southwest division and this could be a preview of the season for this division, as they are expected to be the two best teams among the group, even after losing LeBron James in South Beach.

Miami comes in after losing LeBron and they have Luol Deng in the fold and he could be one of the best free agent additions in the league from the offseason. Miami will next travel to play the Sixers and they will need a new leading scorer, rebounder and dish man after LeBron left and now Wade has the chance to be the alpha dog again. The team won 54 games last season and they have a tough conference to deal with, as the Bulls and Cavaliers are looking like the favorites.

Miami went 12-4 in the division and they were an active team in free agency this past summer, losing LeBron but also adding Luol Deng as well as Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts. The team was totally beaten down by the Spurs and the bench was one reason why and now that LeBron is gone, the bench becomes way more important for the team to get things done. Miami should win their division again, but the Wiz will be a tough team and they are the main division rivals right now.

Miami plays against the Sixers next and down the line when they play the Cavaliers it should be very interesting. Wade and Chris Bosh have the chance to be back to what they used to do and this matchup with John Wall should be a nice start to the season. Washington plays against Orlando next and the Magic started the season with a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Wiz have to deal without Bradley Beal for a couple months and they come in after Wall led the team in scoring and assists. Marcin Gortat was a huge trade for the team last season and he is now back after leading in rebounding. The team won 22 games last season and had a 10-6 record in the division and they feel they can be even better this year. The Wizards have a young team and they have the chance to be very good, while Miami should also be a strong team once again this season even without the King in South Beach and it will be big as they move on this season without him.
