Madison Bumgarner #40 celebrates with Buster Posey #28 of the San Francisco Giants after defeating the Kansas City Royals 5-0 in Game Five of the 2014 World Series at AT&T Park on October 26, 2014 in San Francisco, California."

The Giants won the World Series over the Kansas City Royals 4-3 after taking Game 7. The Kansas City Royals won Game 6 big over the San Francisco Giants and now the teams will play Game 7 on Wednesday night from Kauffman Stadium in KC for the World Series championship.

The MLB Playoffs Standings has the San Francisco Giants one win away from a World Series championship, as they are up 3-2 against the Kansas City Royals heading into Game 6 of the series after Madison Bumgarner pitched a shutout in Game 5, cementing his status as the MVP of the series if the Giants can pull things out in KC.

The Giants now are up 3-2 and Bumgarner is 2-0 in the World Series after winning Game 1 and Game 5. Bumgarner threw a complete game shutout against the Royals and now he has put his team in position to close things out in Game 6. The Giants pounded the Royals with 12 hits and they did damage early against James Shields, but it was only 2-0 until the team added three runs in the eighth inning. The Royals now have no margin for error and they return home down 3-2 after leaving with the series tied 1-1.

The Royals had a 2-1 lead in the series at one point, but the Giants were able to put together some wins and now they have the chance to win another championship. Buster Posey and a number of other players already have two and adding this would be huge for some of their career legacies. Posey, Madison Bumgarner and Tim Lincecum as well as Pablo Sandoval all will get to a very big place if they can close this out and they have a World Series winner from last year on the mound next.

Jake Peavy will matchup against Yordano Ventura in Game 6 and the matchup will be on Tuesday night from Kansas City at Kauffman Stadium. Shields took the loss once again and now is 0-2, while Bumgarner is 2-0 and he went nine innings and struck out eight while allowing just four hits. Shields gave up two runs, but those were two too many and he also was hit eight times and had four strikeouts. Kelvin Herrera was rocked a bit and Wade Davis also gave up a run and now the Royals are against the wall.

The Giants put the Royals in a tough spot and Bumgarner was excellent, forcing the lineup into defensive swings and for the most part they looked lost at the plate. The Giants struck first with a groundout from Brandon Crawford that scored Hunter Pence and that ended up being the winning run. Crawford had another hit later for an RBI and Bumgarner was basically able to avoid trouble for the whole matchup. The team added three runs in the eighth and that was more than enough for Bumgarner, who retired the side in order in the eighth to close things out.
