Green Bay Packers Rumors: Davante Adams Fantasy Free Agent As Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb Strong Start Picks For Aaron Rodgers

Oct 23, 2014 10:39 AM EDT

The Green Bay Packers come into Week 8 after a big win against the Panthers and for fantasy football owners, Davante Adams is the top free agent pickup at WR, while Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Eddie Lacy are the best start picks for the game against the Saints and that will be on the road for the Pack this weekend.

The Packers have one of the best offensive units in the league and now they matchup against one of the worst defenses, as the Saints have been getting lit up lately yardage wise. Rodgers is the best QB in the league right now the way he is playing and for fantasy owners looking for a boost, Adams is a solid pickup. Adams did not have a great game this past week with just one catch and one target for 21 yards, but the game was a massive blowout.

Adams is clearly ahead of Jarrett Boykin on the depth chart and that makes him a solid WR3 or WR4 option in most leagues. Even with Nelson and Cobb playing well, Adams is worth a look this week. Rodgers is having a fantastic season and the Packers have started off very well and now they are one of the best teams in the NFC and he has been helped along by Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, while Adams has played well behind those two. Rodgers now has 18 touchdowns and just one interception on the season and he is putting together another MVP campaign.

For fantasy owners Nelson and Cobb have also been great and Adams is a solid option to look at moving forward. The Packers are going to keep throwing the ball a ton and with Nelson and Cobb always getting the hard coverage, he could be open for some solid production. Nelson is the best option for the Packers and he comes in with 47 catches for 712 yards already along with six touchdowns and he has been one of the best fantasy options in all of football. Last week Nelson had four catches for 80 yards and a TD in the game against the Panthers and he is back after setting career highs with 85 catches for 1314 yards last season.

Cobb had a great game against the Panthers and now has 35 catches for 452 yards and eight touchdowns a year after he missed half the season with an injury. Cobb had six catches for 121 yards in the game along with a touchdown and now he has scored in all but one of his games this season. Cobb has been as consistent as anyone and now he is delivering on the promise he showed a couple years ago when he had 10 TDs and made 80 catches for over 950 yards. Last season he was limited to six games and had 31 catches for 433 yards and four scores in six games. Adams is a very solid pickup in deeper leagues and for anyone needing help with Victor Cruz, AJ Green and Calvin Johnson all missing in action with injuries recently.
