The MLB Playoffs Standings has the San Francisco Giants up 1-0 over the Kansas City Royals in the World Series and now they lead after Game 1 to snap the eight game winning streak for KC and Game 2 is on Wednesday night and gives SF the chance to go up 2-0, while the Royals are looking for the 1-1 split heading back to California for the next game.

The Giants got another great start from Madison Bumgarner and James Shields did not live up to his nickname of Big Game James, giving up three runs in the first inning. The Giants poured it on later in the game and they also worked their way out of trouble and now the Royals have been handed their first loss of the playoffs.

The Giants came into the World Series at 8-2 in the postseason, while the Royals were 8-0 and looking unstoppable. The Giants basically did what they did in the wild card game and dominated with Bumgarner on the mound and if the Giants win, there is no doubt he will be MVP. Bumgarner has been fantastic and now the Giants have the 1-0 advantage and they have already done what they needed to do by winning a game in Kansas City.

The Giants had 10 hits in the game and one error and they put up five runs before the Royals even scored. The team went up 7-0 and now they have a 1-0 lead in the series. Hunter Pence hit a huge home run early in the game and Brandon Crawford made some nifty plays at short to keep things locked in after making an error earlier. Danny Duffy came into the game for the Royals after Shields was knocked out and he held things down for the most part and allowed Ned Yost to not totally waste out his bullpen. Salvador Perez hit a home run for the Royals and now the team has to find a way to pull together for Game 2 of the series.

Pence hit a home run after Pablo Sandoval doubled Gregor Blanco in and Bumgarner shut down the Royals the next few innings despite running into some trouble. Bumgarner had the bases loaded and was able to get out of it and later the Giants returned the favor. The team added two more runs in the fourth inning and in the sevenths Joe Panik hit a triple to score another run from Blanco and he later came in after a single from Sandoval. Hunter Strickland came into the game and shut things down to get the win and now the Giants are ready for more and they could go up 2-0.
