The NY Rangers and New Jersey Devils are playing on the NHL season schedule on Tuesday from NJ and the game at the Prudential Center starts up at 7 pm ET from MSG on TV and NHL.com as these Metropolitan Division rivals matchup and it has Henrik Lundqvist against Cory Schneider and this is a big game for both teams, as they each have six points on the year.

The Rangers and Devils are big rivals and this is the first game for the teams this season and comes after the Rangers made a run to the Stanley Cup finals last year. The team was much better than the Devils, who missed the playoffs and they made their first appearance in the east finals since the Devils beat them there a few years ago and made it to the Cup, where they eventually lost. The Rangers have high expectations for this season and so far they have been playing well after a slow start and Rick Nash is one of the reasons why.

Nash has not scored as much as everyone had hoped when he signed with the Rangers and after not coming through for most of the playoffs last year, he has gotten off to a fast start this season and that could be a major key for the Rangers. The team comes in after a very good win against the San Jose Sharks by 4-0 and that game saw goals from Nash and Martin St. Louis. The two players scored within seconds of each other and both goals were on second effort pushes.

Nash can be a dominating player and while he has not been that in past years in NY, it's looking like he finally is making good on that promise. Nash already has eight points on the season and he is leading the team with seven goals and the team has played in six games so far. The Rangers started off slow after getting an opening night win and now they are 3-3-0 on the season with six points.

The past few games have been going well for the Rangers and after winning over Carolina in a shootout with a goal from Rick Nash, the team shot out the Sharks. Lundqvist had 33 saves in the game and was fantastic and that game a week after he had a terrible game and was pulled. The Rangers need the King to be the King again and if Hank plays up to his usual potential, the Rangers should be threats at the end of the year again.

The Devils come into the game with as many points as the Rangers in one less game and they are 3-2-0 and third in the division and they come in after a loss to the Sharks. The Devils next will play the Dallas Stars and they have been scoring quite a bit to start the season. The team is ranked third in goals per game in the early going and that has been big for the team. The Devils lost to the Capitals and the Sharks and the game against San Jose was the home opener for the team.
