The Seattle Seahawks had high hopes when they acquired Percy Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings. The belief was the dynamic wide receiver could be a huge asset to the offense. Instead, Harvin started his tenure with the team with a hip injury and then a fight before the Super Bowl. After an argument with quarterback Russell Wilson, the receiver's fate was sealed and Harvin was dealt to the New York Jets. Head coach Pete Carroll admits the whole situation is unfortunate.

With reports of locker room issues circling, the Seahawks had to make a move. Carroll notes that he thought Harvin would be happy in Seattle after the team traded for him, overlooking the temperament issues he had in Minnesota, but when fights were picked with Wilson, Harvin had to go leaving the Seahawks with a failed experiment.

"We've had a lot of cases that called for understanding and compassion and strength and vision," Carroll said, via 710 ESPN Seattle. "But sometimes it just doesn't work. Most of the time I feel like it does for me, so I take it hard. I couldn't make it work for our team and our players. I was disappointed, because I told John I would get this done. I thought I could, but it didn't work out the way we had hoped and we had to make our move."

With Harvin gone, Doug Baldwin becomes the leading wide receiver for the team and a must-start in fantasy football. He currently leads the team with 310 yards and will be getting a lot more targets thrown his way with Harvin not on the field anymore. Baldwin admitted he was disappointed the Seahawks traded the wide receiver, giving the offense one less threat on the field and blaming the deal on the team's loss to the St. Louis Rams.

"Obviously the shock of the transaction and what took place there made for a bit of an emotional roller coaster," Baldwin said, via ESPN.com. "When something that drastic happens, right before we get on the bus [to go to the airport for the trip], there is going to be an emotional impact. I felt we handled it to the best of our ability, but I think it might have been a factor in some way. There's obviously a lot of things that went on this week that affected the team in numerous ways."

Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson both denied there was any kinds of issues with Harvin off the field despite the reports of constant fighting going on. The team will now rely on the leadership of Baldwin along with Jermaine Kearse stepping up his game. Fantasy owners should look for players like Kevin Norwood and Paul Richardson to get increased targets on the field as well.
