The Kansas City Royals won over the Baltimore Orioles to advance to the World Series on Wednesday, sweeping the ALCS 4-0 and winning 2-1 and now they have won eight straight games after winning the wild card and the NLDS and now they await the Giants or the Cardinals in the World Series.

This post has been updated above.

The MLB playoffs standings coming into Tuesday had the Kansas City Royals leading the Baltimore Orioles 3-0 in the ALCS with the chance to clinch on Wednesday, while the San Francisco Giants are on top of the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 in the NLCS after winning on Tuesday and they can clinch at home with wins in the next two games as these four teams try and reach the 2014 World Series.

The Royals are basically into the World Series, as no team has come back from 2-0 down after losing the first two games at home and now they are three games down. The Royals have not lost since the playoffs started and they appear to be the team of destiny. The Giants also always seem to find a way to win and they are now up 2-1 after taking advantage of an error by the Cardinals and they are in position to win the NLCS at home as well.

The Giants won over the Cardinals after an error in the 10th inning from Randy Choate and now they are in position to go up 3-1 in the series with another game to be played in San Francisco.
