Mexico and Honduras are playing live on the international friendly World Cup schedule on Thursday night and the game is on ESPN2 and WatchESPN online streaming from Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna and it started up past 9 pm ET for El Tri as they get into action after their devastating loss against the Netherlands in Brazil.
The two Concacaf teams are playing in Honduras and the matchup is the chance for Miguel Herrera's team to put the World Cup behind them and they are looking to start off with a win. The team was a mess leading into the World Cup after the team did not play well in qualifying and they had to make it in through the playoff and after a big comeback win for the United States.
Both Honduras and Mexico did not get as far as they wanted in the tournament and Mexico ended up with zero points last time before coming into Brazil and they made a great run this year. The Mexican side made it through the knockout stages playing very well and ended up getting beat by the Netherlands in a controversial finish and now they will be wondering how they can get back to that stage again next time.
Hugo Ayala is a player to watch and coming up the Mexican team will be looking to stay consistent as they go through the 2015 Gold Cup and 2016 Copa America, but come the 2017 Gold Cup and World Cup qualifying. Herrera gave the team a chance after all the turmoil at the position and he will give the team some consistency moving forward and that is what the United States did and that is why they have been getting better.
