The MLB playoff standings have four teams left with the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in the ALCS and NLCS and the start dates for those games are on Friday and Saturday as the postseason continues and those four will battle to see who makes it into the World Series from the American League and National League.

The Royals and Orioles will get started up in Baltimore on Friday and that game will be on TBS at 8 pm ET. The Royals come in after sweeping the Angels and winning the series in Kansas City, while the Orioles won over the Tigers in a sweep. Both teams come in playing very well and they have strong bullpens and lineups and this could be a very even series.

The Cardinals and Giants each won their series 3-1 and now San Francisco will visit St. Louis for Game 1 on Saturday. The two teams are perennial favorites in the NL and they have been the World Series teams from the past two seasons in the National League. The Cards won over the Dodgers again to advance into this series, while the Giants won over the Washington Nationals after taking a 2-0 lead in the series. The Giants are trying to win their third title in five seasons, while the Cards are trying to get back to the World Series for the second time in a row.

The Giants came into the playoffs as a wild card team and so did the Royals and now the two top teams in the AL and NL are done. The Nationals were best in the NL and the Angels were best in the American League and MLB this past season and now they are home for the playoffs. The Royals trade for James Shields helped lead the team to this moment and now they matchup with the Orioles, as team that has been trending upwards for a few years now.

The World Series will have home field advantage for the American League after the AL won the All-Star game and that means the Orioles or the Royals will have the advantage over the Cardinals and the Giants. San Francisco has been excellent over the past two postseason runs, going 10-1 in their past 11 games and now they face off against another team that has had sustained success in
