Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has emerged as one of the top players in the world over the past year and now the midfielder may have some competition coming his way, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly looking at Sterling as a target while his future with the Reds remains up in the air in the English Premier League.

According to Pro Soccer Talk via the Daily Express, Real Madrid and PSG have both joined in on the action regarding Sterling, as he is playing on a light contract and is in line for a raise and that could lead him to leave Anfield. Sterling also plays for England and has distinguished himself as one of the top young players in the world and at only 19 years old he has the chance to make some big money. Sterling played well at the World Cup and he had a strong season last year for the Reds and with the way they have been struggling, a move for Sterling could be best for his career.

Liverpool will be interested in keeping Sterling as well after they signed Mario Balotelli and lost Luis Suarez to Barcelona, but the other teams will be looking to make a splash with a deal. PSG reportedly could triple the salary of the young star and that would be tough to match for Liverpool, while Real Madrid has been signing stars left and right over the past couple years. On top of Ronaldo, the team signed Gareth bale, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez and now Sterling could be the next target.

Brendan Rodgers has been quoted as saying young players should not get "too much too soon", but he added that he thinks Sterling will get a new deal with Liverpool. Sterling has come up over the past two years while playing with Suarez and also Daniel Sturridge and he was one of the leading scorers on the team last season as the team finished in second in the EPL.
