Matt Carpenter #13 of the St. Louis Cardinals touches home after hitting a third inning solo home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Three of the National League Division Series at Busch Stadium on October 6, 2014 in St Louis, Missouri."

The MLB playoffs standings has the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants up 2-1 in the NLDS and this comes after the Cards won over the Dodgers and the Washington Nationals took a game from the Giants and now Game 4 could end both series and those will pick up on Tuesday with TV coverage on Fox Sports 1.

The Cardinals won over the Dodgers in Game 3 after scoring two runs in the seventh inning to win 3-1 and they now have a 2-1 leads in the series. The Cardinals won Game 1 and the Dodgers won Game 2 and now things move into Game 4 and that will have Clayton Kershaw on the mound for LA on three days' rest, which is what the team also did last season against the Cards.

The Dodgers have the advantage with Kershaw and Zack Greinke lined up for the next two games if they need them, but the Cardinals are in position to close things out at home. The Cardinals fans who met the Mike Brown protesters showed how "cool" Cards fans can be and apart from that ignorance, the game was an exciting one and sets up the Cards to end the series at home in their stadium.

The Washington Nationals won against the Giants after taking advantage of a Madison Bumgarner error and now that series is 2-1 as well. The win snapped a nine game streak for the Giants and now the Nationals have stayed alive after going down 2-0 in the series. The Nationals were so close to tying up the series in Game 2 after Jordan Zimmermann nearly pitched the entire game, but the team ended up blowing it and the 18 inning game left the team at 2-0 in the series.

The Cardinals won behind a strong game from John Lackey and now the dodgers will toss Clayton Kershaw on short rest for the next game. Don Mattingly kept Yasiel Puig out of the lineup and now if LA loses, he surely will be second guessed for those moves. The Dodgers are on the brink and with a team like the Cardinals the opponent, they have to be ready for anything. STL has been in these situations before and they would like to end the series on Tuesday rather than have to play a fifth game.

The Giants feel the same way, as they have forced a Game 5 before and they know exactly how those can go. The Nationals won back some confidence and now they come in trying to save their season after being the best team in the NL this past year. The Cardinals and the Giants can advance with wins and the Dodgers and the Nationals will be trying to force Game 5 matchups after playing out the series to 2-1 coming into Tuesday.
