Oct 04, 2014 09:48 AM EDT

Liverpool and West Brom are playing live on the Barclays English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the match from Anfield is live at 10 am ET on the NBC Sports Network and the NBCSN Live Extra website and the Reds will be looking to get on track after falling to 14th on the league table after finishing in second in the EPL last season.

Liverpool comes into the game after a draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby and now they have West Brom before another easy match with QPR and that will be on the road and those are chances for the team to keep moving up. Liverpool started off slow this season and now they are heading into a stretch where they can get some points. The team plays against Chelsea at home at Anfield coming up next month after playing Newcastle and they really want to get things going for Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool had their best season in years last year and they finished in second on the EPL table behind Manchester City and now they are looking to get on a roll. The team is out Luis Suarez from last season, but Mario Balotelli is in and the club is looking for him to dominate and this match would be a good place to start.

Daniel Sturridge comes in a little banged up and he also just signed a new deal to stay with the team and he was one of the best players for the club last season. Raheem Sterling also played very well last season and he needs to keep things going as well for the Reds. Liverpool has not been the same this season and they have not been able to keep teams back as much as they did last year and they are not scoring nearly as much either.

Liverpool has not played all that well against West Brom recently while winning just one of the past five matches against the team, losing three and drawing one. The two teams had their first draw last year and the Reds are looking to get things back on track this year after not having a win in the last three matches. It's still early in the season, but things are taking shape and they are in the middle of the pack in the wrong part of the league table. The team has not won over their last three league matches and in all their games they have won just four of nine.

Liverpool has not been able to keep teams off the sheet this season even in their wins and Sturridge being out would be tough, as he has scored three times in five games against West Brom in his career, two times for Liverpool. Balotelli has been pushing hard and he has 20 shots this season and is second in the EPL to Diego Costa in shots attempted, but he has not been able to score yet.
