The UCF Knights and Houston Cougars are playing live on the ESPN college football schedule on Thursday night ahead of Arizona and Oregon and the matchup is live at 7 pm ET as Central Florida travels to the Houston Football Stadium for an American Athletic Conference matchup and both teams will be looking to get their first AAC win of the year in the game.

The Knights come into the game after a massive win over Bethune and that's why it was massive and that came after two very tough matchups to start the season. The team opened in Europe against Penn State and lost a heartbreaker there and then the team was blown out by Mizzou. The team lost to Missouri on the road and that is always a tough place to play and now they open up American conference play with Houston, who is 2-2 this season.

The Knights come in with Justin Holman playing well, as he has over 550 passing yards this season and four TDs. Last week he had just 145 yards, but that was all he needed, while William Stanback added over 100 yards rushing. Stanback now leads the team with two Tds and 137 yards and he will need to play well for UCF to win on Thursday night.

The Knights lost their star in Blake Bortles when he went into the NFL and now they are looking to bounce back with a win here. The team has BYU and East Carolina as ranked teams left on the schedule and after playing Houston they have three home games in a row against Brigham Young, Tulane and Temple before hitting the road against UConn. The team also has Tulsa and SMU on the schedule and now the Mustangs are a mess, while USF and East Carolina finish out the season.

The Cougars come in after a massive win against UNLV and that saw the team drop 47 points and that followed a loss against BYU. The team also won big over Grambling and lost to UTSA to open the season. John O'Korn has been solid this season with 846 yards and six TDs and he will need to be on fire against UCF and their stingy secondary.

The Cougars have Memphis next after playing UCF and then the team comes home to play Temple. The team hits the road against Tulane and then the final stretch has Tulsa before two road games to finish the season and those are against SMU and Cincinnati.
