MLB Playoffs Standings: Oakland Athletics, Royals Play Wild Card Games As Postseason Schedule Starts Tuesday

The final MLB playoff standings for the 2014 season has the Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants in as the wild card teams and the postseason schedule will begin on Tuesday with the one game AL playoff before the National League wild card matchup on Wednesday and that will be in Pittsburgh.

The Mariners lasted all the way until the end, but the Oakland Athletics clinched on Sunday by winning against the Texas Rangers, while the Kansas City Royals clinched the day before. The two teams will play in Kansas City on Tuesday and the matchup starts at 8 pm ET on TBS and will be the first postseason matchup of 2014. The Giants and Pirates will play in Pittsburgh and that game is on at 8 pm ET from ESPN and will lead into the division round of the postseason.

The other playoff teams in the AL and NL include the Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, LA Dodgers, Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals. The American League division series has the Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles set and that will start on Thursday on TBS in Baltimore. The NLDS has the Cardinals at the Dodgers and that will begin in Los Angeles on Friday.

The Los Angeles Angels and Washington Nationals will be waiting to see who wins the wild card games to see who they will matchup against and those series will start on Thursday and Friday. The Championship Series in the AL and the NL start up on Friday October 10 and Saturday October 11 and those are the earliest that those matchups begin.

The World Series is the 110th one in history and will start up on Tuesday, October 21 and the earliest that it can end is that Saturday if it's a sweep. The American League hosts the World Series after winning the All-Star game, yeah, and the coverage will be from FOX. The MLB postseason has coverage from FOX, Fox Sports 1, TBS, ESPN and ESPN radio and now it's October, time for the best baseball.
