The NY Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks are playing live on the NHL preseason schedule on Friday and the game is from the United Center starting up at 8:30 pm ET and has New York looking to get things off to a good start this season after making it to the Stanley Cup finals and the matchup is streaming from NHL.com as the preseason continues.

The Rangers made it to the finals last year and lost to the Kings and it was LA who won over Chicago in dramatic fashion to advance to the Cup. The Rangers likely wish they played the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals last year, as they were beaten up by the Kings and while they held tight, they went down 3-0 and couldn't come back. The team made a run to the finals for the first time in 20 years and while it was a great run, the fans want more and they wanted more last year as well.

The Rangers come into the season with a number of new players and they are looking to bounce back after the tough loss in the finals. The team has Henrik Lundqvist back and they feel he is ready to continue playing at an MVP level after helping the team make it all the way to the finals last year for the first time in two decades.

The Rangers and Blackhawks will matchup in Chicago and this Original Six matchup is always a fun one to watch and NY is looking to keep things going after making it to the finals last season. The team no longer has Brad Richards and they will have to get used to that with this matchup and the Blackhawks come into the game after a loss against the Red Wings and that was in Detroit on Thursday. The Rangers were disappointed the way the finals went and tings turned in game one and now after breaking that two decade streak, the fans and the team are hoping it's sooner that they make it back to the finals.

The Rangers are planning on using some of their starting players in the game, as the season is getting closer and that means Rick Nash, Derick Brassard and others will be playing some time on lines to get ready for the opener. Alain Vigneault had a fantastic season and pushed all the right buttons for his team to start his NY career and now he is looking for a string follow up to all of that as the team mad their run to the finals.
