The NBA season is just around the corner and this year the OKC Thunder could be subject to some trade rumors, as Kendrick Perkins and Reggie Jackson both could be targets for teams at the deadline with Jackson heading towards a new contract and Perkins getting pushed by Steven Adams in the lineup and that could prompt GM Sam Presti to make some moves.
The Thunder have been smart building their team and they have made one major move that some have called a mistake with the James Harden move, but that could be debated either way. According to Pro Basketball Talk, the team is not looking to trade Jackson as he comes up to his new contract, but obviously that could change depending on how the season goes.
Perkins is dealing with an injury and that could give Adams a chance to start and after how well he played last season, he could end up as the permanent starter. Perkins has come up in trade rumors over the past couple years and that couple play out if Adams plays well this season.
"We don't look at [Jackson] as anything other than a core member," Presti said.
