The Cleveland Cavaliers have targeted Ray Allen on the free agent market and the team is hoping LeBron James can convince him to sign and this comes as a trade for Timofey Mozgov is also a target and the team may have to deal someone like Tristan Thompson or Dion Waiters if they want to get that done after the Kevin Love trade was completed.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Cavaliers have been looking at Ray Allen as another free agent option for the bench, while Mozgov is a target for his defense. The Nuggets will not just give up Mozgov and if the team wants him, they likely will have to deal a solid player like Waiters or Thompson. The Cavs already pulled off the move of the summer by getting Kevin Love and now they may look at other deals.

The Kevin Love trade saw the Cavs trade Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Love and that means LeBron James will be getting a new superstar teammate alongside Kyrie Irving and that could lead to a championship this year and surely the Cavs are the favorites now that they pulled the deal off.

The Warriors previously were in talks with the Timberwolves during the summer, but the team did not want to offer Klay Thompson and that basically was a deal breaker for Minnesota. The team reportedly wanted Thompson over any player between the Bulls, Warriors and Cavaliers, but with Golden State unwilling to part ways with him, the team turned to what they felt was the next best option in the Cleveland package.

The Wolves may have wanted to make one more run at the playoffs and at Love for him to stay, but he had said multiple times he wanted to be in the postseason after missing it for six years and this now is his chance to do it. The Warriors were worried about making the deal for a number of reasons, as they really value Thompson and they also have a top defense coming back after Mark Jackson preached that last year. The organization wants to keep that up this season under Steve Kerr and adding Love is a minus in that category and while the team wants Love, it might be better to sit tight after winning over 50 games with this roster last season.

The Timberwolves feel that Wiggins has star potential and the number one draft pick said he wanted the deal to Minnesota since he would rather be on his own earlier in his career then a cog in what LeBron is doing. Wiggins didn't get that detailed, but his college coach Bill Self made those points and now Wiggins has the chance to learn and grow in Minnesota and that could be what helps him get to his potential. Wiggins came into the college season as a highly touted player and he ended up as the number one pick and while playing with LeBron would be great, this actually could be better for his career and development long term.
