The Penn State Nittany Lions and Akron Zips are playing live on the college football schedule on Saturday and the matchup is from Beaver Stadium at 12 pm ET from ABC and ESPN2 while also streaming from WatchESPN as Christian Hackenberg comes in looking to win a second straight game after the opening win in Europe against UCF last weekend and the Big Ten schedule will be coming up next against Rutgers.
Penn State comes in after a big win against UCF and that was an exciting game that went down to the end and Hackenberg had himself a game with over 400 yards passing. The team has started off as one of the most productive passing teams in the nation and it will be interesting to see if they keep that up as the Big Ten schedule moves along. Hackenberg threw for 454 yards in the win and now they are looking to get another victory.
The Big Ten has a number of excellent teams this year with Michigan State and Ohio State and now Penn State will try and play some spoiler for those teams and they end the season against MSU and that could be a huge matchup. The schedule picks up next week with the Big Ten matchup against Rutgers on the road and after playing UMass and then they matchup with Northwestern.
Michigan plays against Notre Dame this week and they are on the schedule for Penn State and the Nittany Lions will be playing in Ann Arbor for that game on ESPN in October and that should be a big matchup. The team plays Michigan and Ohio State in back to back weeks and that matchup with OSU will be at home. Maryland is next on the schedule and they have Indiana on the road next before playing Temple and Illinois on the road.
Michigan State is the final game of the season and that will be a big matchup for the Spartans and they are looking very good this year and could be a favorite pick for the title in the conference. Penn State has a talented quarterback in Hackenberg and he could be the key for the team this season.
