Azarenka said she was not feeling good and that is one reason why she lost to Ekaterina Makarova, who now has napped a streak of losing the last four major quarterfinals matches.

Williams will have one less thing to worry about when it comes to doubles, as she lost along with her sister and now she can concentrate on singles. Williams is the only one defending her title here this season, as Rafael Nadal is out with a wrist injury and Williams has continued to play well and now she has advanced farther than she has at any grand slam this year. Williams is looking like the strongest woman and with so many upsets on that side, she should be through.
